Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications were commissioned to upgrade the glass recycling plant for our customer based at Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. The works involved the design, fabrication and installation of new conveyors, screening equipment, access stairs, chute works as well demolition work.
Having been commissioned to carry out the coarse plant upgrade and having the drawings approved, Thor Atkinson Steel Fabrications engaged our wholly owned demolition company, N&R Contractors to clear the site in preparation for the upgrades. N&R Contractors carried out the demolition of all existing structures which were not required as part of the coarse plant upgrade. As part of the demolition works, all demolition materials were removed from the site and the area was left in a safe and tidy condition.
Having laid the new base for the new steel structures, we were able to start work on the erection of the galvanised steelwork.
The overall project included the following:
As part of the same project, we installed a 4 deck Bivitec screen unit, including the chrome carbide lined underpan chute.
The whole project was completed meeting CDM Regulations 2015, to ensure the project was carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
